Just Finished

My first Kindle book! An engaging but confronting first-person account of a combat officer's experience from Normandy through to the Battle of the Bulge and into Germany. Just to show that the experiences dramatised in Band of Brothers were by no means unique, though the emphasis in this book is more on the ultimate loneliness of the combat soldier, especially when faced with the relentlessly random and inevitable attrition and destruction that the front line soldier had to confront. No prizes for literary style, but a compelling read especially for the history/WWII buff.
